The National Health Commission recently issued the "Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Integration of Health Technology and Medical Services," proposing three major goals to be achieved by 2026: 80% of secondary and above hospitals connected to intelligent monitoring device data; remote health management covering 50% of chronic disease patients; and cultivating 10 health technology enterprises with an annual output value exceeding 5 billion yuan. The introduction of this policy injects strong momentum into the development of the health technology industry and points the way for the integration of health technology and medical services.
The policy clearly supports medical institutions and enterprises jointly building "Intelligent Diagnosis and Treatment Laboratories," promoting the application of intelligent health monitoring devices, artificial intelligence algorithms, and more in the medical field by integrating the resources and advantages of both parties. At the same time, the policy gives procurement preference to innovative devices certified by the NMPA, encouraging medical institutions to actively adopt advanced health technology products to improve the quality and efficiency of medical services.
In pilot cities such as Shenzhen and Hangzhou, remote monitoring devices equipped with 5G functionality have been included in the medical insurance reimbursement catalog, reducing the patient self-payment ratio to 30%. This measure not only alleviates the financial burden on patients but also increases their enthusiasm for using intelligent health devices, promoting the popularization of remote health management. For example, in Shenzhen, the cost of remote blood pressure monitoring devices for hypertension patients can be reimbursed through medical insurance, leading many patients to develop the habit of regularly monitoring their blood pressure, effectively improving hypertension control rates.
Industry experts analyze that the policy benefits will accelerate industry reshuffling, with companies possessing medical qualifications and data security technologies seizing the opportunity. As the policy continues to advance, the integration of health technology and medical services will deepen, giving rise to more innovative medical service models. For example, services such as remote consultations, intelligent assisted diagnosis, and personalized treatment will become more widespread, providing patients with more convenient, efficient, and high-quality medical services.
It is expected that in the next three years, the annual growth rate of the health technology and medical integration market scale will remain above 35%. This rapidly growing market will attract more enterprises and capital, driving technological innovation and industrial upgrading in the industry. At the same time, the development of health technology and medical integration will also help improve the efficiency of medical resource allocation in China, alleviate the uneven distribution of medical resources, and enhance the overall health level of the population.
